Whatever You Want It To Be
Wampi has a lot of supporters. More and more people come to this blog every day to see how he's doing, check out his pictures, and give overall support to this wonderful kitty that was victimized in early June. The Webmasters for Wampi section is growing every day ... Heck, I'm getting more and more donations ... the vet bill is slowly but surely coming down.

But similar to real life, there are people out there that are extremely intolerant. They think that what they do and believe and act is the ONLY way to go. They criticize photo blogs or cat blogs or dog blogs ... don't even get me started with the controversy surrounding Mommy Blogs (and yes, I am a mommy with a secret mommy blog).

But really, isn't this all about free speech? A blog is whatever we want it to be. And who says a blog has to be an all-encompassing journal of someone's life? Why would anyone think that the blog is completely and totally representative of the blogger? Maybe the blog you see is just a chronicle of events, or an in-depth look at something amazing/tragic in a person's life. Maybe someone is training for a marathon and a team is blogging about their goals. Maybe a mom wants to share some photos and experiences of that part of her life with friends, family or anyone interested. Maybe the blog is a fitness blog, set up to keep someone motivated to lose weight or get in shape. Maybe, just maybe, someone wants to tell the world of something horrible that happened to her cat so people speak out and take a stand against cruelty to animals.

Is there anything wrong with that? I say emphatically, NO.

I just don't understand why all this blog snobbery exists. Why some people (and I think it's a minority but it exists and it bothers me) feel the need to be so negative about others' personal thoughts & ideas. If all the blogs were the same, it would be quite boring indeed.

Let the polital bloggers be political, let the mommy bloggers do their thing, and the cat-lovers, the dog-lovers, the shark-lovers! Write about what makes you laugh, or cry, or feel, or remember ... and if you just want to write about WHATEVER, well then, do it.

Just please don't criticize. Please try to keep an open mind and realize everyone single one of us is more than what we are in our blogs.

And please don't attack people's blogs.

Recently, my blog has been targeted by malicious ad clicker(s) ... crazy but true. So I've removed the ads from the site and I don't know if they will be back. Too bad because they were doing so well. I'm sad that I had to take them down but mostly just disturbed that someone felt they needed to attack a website like this one.

This website is just a small part of my life ... it's here to chronicle Wampi's recovery and our fundraising efforts. Sometimes I feel like I shouldn't vent like this because I want to keep this site all about Wampi ... but I'm human and I just got tired of it today. Forgive me for venting.

To everyone who supports Wampi and what I've tried to do here, well thanks. Thanks for letting me share this part of my life with you, thanks for reading, and thanks for helping me save Wampi.

I'm sorry to hear that people are attacking this blog. Well, not so much sorry as really upset by it. I am sorry that you had to remove the ads as a result of their actions, especially if they were helping.

When I first came to this site, I was deeply moved by your situation because it's what I fear: someone I love getting hurt, senselessly, and not being able to just fix it. If it were my husband, my health insurance would take care of it. But if someone were to hurt Packet, the last thing I'd do would be to give up on her, let her suffer, or have her put to sleep. That's just crazy talk.

It takes a bit of courage to reach out to strangers, but I'm glad you did. Wampi is worth saving, and I'm glad to help, even if just a little bit.

Thank you, Sarkasmo. You words are always uplifting and it's people like you that help me deal with the ones who are cruel or thoughtless. You have had so many great suggestions for fund raising and you have donated twice! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Ignore the idiots out there. My blog post for today features a story about the worst, and best, aspects of humanity.

Concentrate on the best, ignore the worst.

eh, pppptttthhhhh to the nay-sayers.

The amount of support Wampi's received in such a short time overshadows the negativity.

I sure hope they need help from someone some day....

People are very strange -i've had the weirdest comments and emails since i started a blog - condeming my politics and religion and i don't even write about these things! I've had emails about the dressup teddies i have on my site becuase they don't wear underwear -come on, they are teddies meant for young kids to colour in and dress

People just see some sort of odd mirror in blogs and its rotten you have had to deal with this.
I've chipped in via paypal - unfortunately i am not working though i am trying to get back into freelancing again - so i couldn't afford much.
Good luck with your site

We need to make the punishment fit the crime when it comes to folks doing assed-up things to animals, especially when it's somebody's pet. Pets are family members, that's like throwing a little girl or a little boy off a roof top and I hope the police find who's responsible for this stupidity and throw them off the same roof-top for entertainment. I wouldn't tell, would you?

TYhey attack mine too, I've just deleted my guestbook because of it and opened a new one. This one will have a block function on it (or at least that's one of the new features about to be integrated)

I really don't understand people like this. I mean why would one want to flood anothers blog or guestbook offering viagra for gawds sake!

That's something that I really don't understand.
You know, I hate spiders. A lot. But, to be honest, I don't go out of my way to kill them. I actually, if I can, put them outside if possible.

So what the heck is it with people and cats? You know, if someone took a dog and threw it off a roof, it would make the evening news or something, but it seems like us cat lovers are an extreme minority.
After everything I've seen/read about people abusing animals, specifically cats, it's no wonder why I preffer the company of cats to people.

yes, there are crazies everywhere...

it's not like a gun was pointed to their heads so they would read blogs they don't want to have anything to do with, no?

the exercise is entirely voluntary...no one is forcing anyone to read anything if they don't want to...

there would always be people who would be interested in animal blogs or mommy blogs, and if you're not among those people, just friggin' go away. NOW!

Thank you jon and drizzlenightsky. =)

I don't understand why people have to be so negative either. I'm just glad there are so many people out there who are supportive.
