More Than Halfway There ...
Six more donations came in over night and that means we are past the halfway point. Wa-Hoo! =)

Huge Thank You's go out to: Denny, PDawg, Kim, Jenifer, Arthur & Assrot. Ya'll are awesome.

OK, well, I've been up the entire night and I gotta get things ready to take Wampi to the vet. And the baby will be waking up soon too so I got a full day ahead. I'll try to have some pictures for tonight.

Pray tell what's wrong with someone trying to save a pet? She's a mom and an animal lover. It's her right, no, obligation, to make her pet healthy and happy. I feel for starving people in Africa, but I have bills and life obligations here. If people wanted to feed the starving in Africa, they would. If they want to give to someone helping a cat, they will. And whining on blog comments won't change that. People like you make me sick. Go crusade somewhere else.

Cam, I'm so sorry about what happened to your cat. I do not understand how people can do such terrible things to helpless beings, either animals or children, and I believe there is a special place in Hell reserved for such.

I've put a post on my blog and asked people to come donate. I don't get much traffic but maybe it will help. I've also donated, although it wasn't much as I don't have a paying job at the moment!

Much love and luck to Wampi and you all.

For you hacks that are busting us animal-lovers out for sending a few bucks to help somebody heal their pet; PUT A SOCK IN IT ALREADY! The U.S. Government sends billions of dollars in food-aid to foreign ingrates who burn the U.S. flag and riot in front of our military posts wanting us to leave their precious country so they can be invaded by the very threat us military-types deter. BFD if a few of us (who happen to own a pet or two) send a few bucks to help this lady nurse a sick pet, albeit family member, back to health. Get a life already!

You are cold and heartless. My cats show love and no amount of "mkay" is going to change my mind. As a matter of fact, I'd say my cats have more "brainfunction" than YOU! Go find something else to do. 5k is nothing compared to what my pets give me. If something ever happens to my dog or cats, you can bet I'll spend the money. You get a life and get real. Most of us are just more "human" than you.

Cam, I'm so sorry you have to deal with callous trolls like el.fro. Being good to a beloved pet and being willing to pay large amounts of money to ensure that that pet remains happy and healthy transcends politics or personal beliefs.

It's sad that someone can see the pictures, and STILL be unwilling to believe the veracity of your story. And it's sadder still that someone would be willing to hurl nasty accusations at you. It certainly reflects on their character.

Well, whatever their faith is, they'll have to answer for their actions eventually. I'm sure things will get interesting then...

Keep up the good work, hon. For every gutless troll, there are a dozen folks whose hearts have been touched and are thinking of you and Wampi! :-)

Thank you so much, Denita TwoDragons.

=) You're right ... so many good people out there definitely make up for the troll minority.

no SHE isn't willing to pay the bills (assuming that this is even CLOSE to legit) what she's willing to do is get YOU ALL to pay the bills!

As for the Africa suggestion - spot on... I'm all for saving the cat, but have you ever run a fund raiser such as this for an abused CHILD? or a rape victim? or a family burned out of their home?

I have pets that I love very much, but if I were going to start a fund raiser, it would be for HUMANS who need it.

Wampi is a beautiful cat and a beloved pet. He is part of our family. He is just as deserving to be "saved" as people.

And anonymous, you have no idea what other kinds of fundraisers I have participated in. I have done many things to help others in my life and I will continue to do so, whether it be for family, pets, stray animals, homeless people, or victimized people & animals. I don't give up on those I love, even when the odds are stacked against me or them.

You should *think* just a little more before you fling accusations at people. Use the time you spend writing negative uninformed comments on people's blogs to organize one of those good causes that you talked about.

Don't bring the rest of us down.

And don't post here anymore.
